A-line skirt - is fitted at the hips and gradually widens towards the hem
Pencil skirt - slim-fitting skirt with a straight, narrow cut. Generally the hem falls to, or is just below, the knee and is tailored for a close fit
Dirndl skirt (tongue breaker i know) - A full skirt with a gathered waistband
Pegged skirt - A pegged skirt tapers towards the bottom - much like pegged jeans have legs that are wider at the thighs but taper to be just wide enough for the foot
